Unit 6 What are you doing for vacation?

一、说教材:

本单元以假期的活动为核心,来展开本单元的教与学,体现现在进行时表示将来的含义,以when where how等特殊疑问句练习重点内容。

通过本单元的学习,可以让学生制定每天学习计划,对自己的节假日提早打算,养成合理安排自己时间的好习惯,让学生切实为自己的活动做主,培养学生独立解决问题的能力。本单元教材主题思路宽广,对话语言可利用性强,因此本单元主题的采纳无论从对学生习惯的教育还是对语言的学习利用都有很大的实用性。

二、说教法:

在教学过程中,营造良好的英语教学环境,依据课程教学内容,设计贴近学生实际的教学活动,首先对于单词,我受到脑图记忆法的启示,对本单元的合成词给学生做了一个小结。例如sightseeing拆解为可看风景实义为观光。

在词组方面,我们可以将本单元的词组组成顺口溜,学生喜闻乐见这种形式,容易接受这些词组,本单元的知识点的传授主要通过口语对话的形式传授给学生,采用图画、小组讨论练习、随堂听力及测试等手段检测该单元的对话,主要的教法采用的依据是学生有兴趣、乐于参与的方法和形式。在本单元的重难点上,采用分课时逐步推进的方式,每课时的学习新知识和复习同步进行,主要目的就是克服英语学习中回生力强的学科特点,对于重难点的检查利用小组比赛的方式进行,初二学生学习的积极性总体上来讲还是比较高的。所以充分调动学生的积极性,利用小组比赛的形式,完全可以达到预期效果。

三、说学法:

学生可根据课前老师布置的教学任务,有目的的自主学习,课前解决部分问题,对于重难点问题可以带到课堂中来,但对学生的积极性要给予培养,对课前的预习效果给予充分肯定,鼓励学生预习,使学生学会合作学习。和“为用而学,用中学,学了用”的方式联系实际大胆实践。

四、说学生:

1)在教学生的过程中,学生的实践机会少,程度不一,整体教学中较难兼顾到具体对象,容易两极分化,通过各种合作学习的活动,可以照顾学习英语有困难的学生,尽可能多地为他们创造语言实践的机会,促使学生互相学习,互相帮助,体验集体荣誉感和成就感,发展合作精神。

2)农村学生学英语起步晚,底子薄,脸皮薄,不敢开口“哑巴英语”现象比较严重,在教学中关注学生的情感,努力营造宽松民主和谐的教学氛围,保护学生的自尊心和积极性。

Learn to ask others what they are doing for vacation?

Eg:---What are you doing for vacation? ---I’m visiting my aunt.

Learn to use “When ” and “How long”

eg:---When are you leaving? ---I’m leaving on Sunday.

---How long are you staying in shanghai? ----I’m staying there for about 2 weeks.

(3)Grammar :

用现在进行时表 将来含义。

Eg:---What are you doing for vacation?

----I’m babysitting my sister.

Grammar:

be doing 结构(be Ving)

表按计划安排即将发生的动作,常用于表位置移动的词如

gocome leave startarrive 等, 也可用于其它动态动词。

Eg: We are leaving on Friday. They are coming next week.

这一用法常带有表将来的时间状语,如果不带时间状语,则根据上下文也可表示最近即将发生的动作。

Eg:---Where are you doing? ---I’m going for a walk. Are you going with me?

---Yes, I’m just coming. Wait for me.

现代英语中,有许多动词(动态)都可用现在进行时表将来。

Eg: Dinner is ready. We’re having noodles for dinner.

He is writing to you tomorrow. I’m spending my weekend in Dalian.

与现在进行时进行区别。

第一课时

一、Learning tasks.

A: What are you doing for vacation?

B: I’m babysitting my sister.

When are you going ? I’m going on Monday .

4Grammar 掌握be doing表达将来含义的用法。

5、情感目标:体会英语国家假期的主要习惯,了解风俗习惯。

二、教学重点:现在进行时表示将来时的用法。

三、Teaching steps:

Step1 Revision

Revise some words and phrases:

go camping, babysit my sister . visit my grandparents go sightseeing go fishing go hiking

Step2: Show learning tasks.

Step3: Leading in

T: May Day is coming. We’ll have a vacation of seven days. Do you have a plan for the vacation? What’s Let’s look at the picture on page31 , and write down your plans on the lines in 1a . Check the answer.

Sample answers: relaxing at home . visiting my grandmother, spending time with the friends, babysitting my sister, go shopping, go swimming go sightseeing go boating go hiking.

TOk, now class, can you find the phrases underline?

They have something in common. Can you tell me?

Ss:它们都是由go加动词的ing形式构成,都表示去从事动词的这项活动。

TYes, you are right. “go + verb +ing”表示去从事动词的这项活动。It is very popular in English. We often use it like this . Please remember it, OK?

Step3: New teaching.

T: What are you doing now?

Ss: We are studying English.

Get another student to translate and show the tense.

Then show other dialogues on the blackboard.

1) A: What are you doing after school?

B: I’m relaxing at home.

2) A: What is he doing after school?

He is doing his homework.

Get the student to guess the Chinese meaning. Ask some students to show their answers to the class. (因为在第二单元中出现过,所以应有一部分同学能回答出来) Tell the students: after school is the time in the future . Then show some dialogues to get the students to read and translate.

3). A: What are you doing for vacation?

B: He’s going sightseeing.

4) A: What is Tom doing this weekend?

B: I’m going sightseeing.

5) A: What are they doing tomorrow afternoon?

B: They are spending time with friends.

Show the table to the students . Ask and answer in pairs to practice the dialogue .

Step 4. Listening.

Listen to the tape and do the exercise in 1b 2a and 2b.

Show students the passage 2a then let students read and recite it.

Step 5. Make a survey.

Make a survey about what you and your classmates are doing for the coming vacation in the group of four.

The captain reports the result.

3Language focus:

How long are they staying? They are staying for four days .

Where are they going ? They are going to Hong Kong .

三、Teaching steps :

2. Listen to the radio and read after it

4 Read and practice in pairs .

Step 4 Make a new conversation with the information in3b.

Step 5 Vacation dreams :

Show them some key words :

When what when where with whom how long

Let them dicuss , then write it down

Some students read their passage in class .
